WHEEL ALIGNMENT
A SIMPLE WHEEL ALIGNMENT CAN SAVE YOU HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS!
The human body is balanced and wears from the feet up, so if you have bad feet then you will have a poor posture and skeletal alignment and most likely suffer from joint and back pain as well as arthritis in the future. The same can be said of your motor vehicle, be it a 4WD, SUV, light commercial vehicle or family car. The way your wheels sit on the road will make a huge difference to your tyre wear, which in turn will place undue amounts of pressure and strain on your bushes and suspension. This can mean that your suspension and joints will wear a lot faster than if your wheels were correctly aligned. As your car wears it wears in a uniform pattern and all parts undergo similar wear. When you replace worn parts with new parts this will then create a different wear pattern which can cause the older parts to wear out more quickly.
DOES YOUR CAR NEED A WHEEL ALIGNMENT?
- Uneven or excessive tyre wear
- The car floats or wanders over the road
- The steering wheel moves to the right or left
- There is a vibration through the steering wheel
- The steering wheels don’t stay centred when the car is going straight
- Improved tyre wear and performance
When your wheels are out of alignment it will cause additional wear on your tires. With a properly aligned vehicle, you can get thousands of kilometres more out of your tires.
- Improved fuel mileage
Due to less road resistance from all your wheels rolling evenly without dragging your engine won’t have to work as hard and you will get more from your tank of petrol which can add up to quite a saving over the years. Please note that you will need to have all your wheels aligned properly and at the correct tyre pressure to get the most our of your fuel in this manner.
- Better Handling
If you have noticed that you are always having to correct the steering to maintain a straight line then a complete alignment will correct these handling issues. On top of that, your tyres will perform better around corners, in the wet and road shock will be greatly reduced as your tyres will have the correct footprint for maximum performance and handling.
- Reduced wear on components
With less drag from your wheels there will be reduced pressure on your steering components and joints. You will find that your bushes will last longer and your vehicle will maintain optimal steering and handling for longer due to reduced wear and tear.
- Safer driving
Our alignment process will also include an inspection of your suspension system, which means we’ll find any worn parts before they become a costly issue. Just remember that the earlier you replace worn parts the less damage/wear they cause to other components they are attached to. We can also perform any upgrades to your suspension necessary for the individual requirements of your vehicle’s safety.
